Malay, a first-class Municipality is the tourism capital of the Province of Aklan. Located at the northwestern tip of Panay Island, it is bounded on the north by Sibuyan and Sulu Seas, on the east by the Municipality of Nabas, on the west by the Municipality of Buruanga and on the south by the Province of Antique. Having a total land area of 6,731 hectares, it is politically divided into 17 barangays.

MUNICIPALITY OF MALAY (INCLUDING BORACAY ISLAND) WILL BE PLACED UNDER GENERAL COMMUNITY QUARANTINE EFFECTIVE ON MARCH 19, 2020 AT 10:00PM

Acting Municipal Mayor Frolibar S. Bautista signed the Executive Order No. 014, series of 2020 declaring the whole Municipality of Malay under General Community Quarantine which will be effective on Thursday, March 19, 2020, at 10:00PM.

The Order will remain effective until lifted by the Mayor.

During General Community Quarantine, the movement of people are hereby limited to accessing basic necessities and work; and uniformed personnel and quarantine officers shall be present at the border points. Tourists, foreign or domestic, regardless of origin, as long as they are not workers and/or residents of Malay shall be denied entry to the Municipality.

Curfew from 10:00pm to 5:00am are also in effect throughout the whole Municipality.

Please be also informed that the CBTMPC already limited the schedule of boats from 6:00AM to 9:00PM only.

The Municipality of Malay (Boracay Island) remains free from Coronavirus Disease-19 or COVID-19.
